For the past 5 weeks we have been running a series of blogs highlighting that at CPB UK, our people are at the heart of everything we do. In this series, Inside CPB: Meet the Team, we have shone a spotlight on a few of the talented individuals who make our work possible. Each interview offers a behind-the-scenes look at their roles, experiences, and what inspires them to make a difference every day.
In the last of the series, we talk to Operations Director, Carrie-Anne Mathers.
Carrie has a strong commitment to operational excellence, strategic growth, and people-focused leadership. With a background in streamlining processes and driving organisational efficiency, Carrie plays a key role in ensuring that CPB’s operations align with its long-term goals and values.
Known for her collaborative approach and keen eye for detail, Carrie-Anne oversees cross-functional teams, optimises workflows, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Her leadership has contributed to significant advancements in operational performance, client satisfaction, and team engagement.

Let's meet Carrie ...
Q1. What inspired you to join CPB UK?
CM: A friend of mine was already working here and joked that he’d split the finder’s fee! But seriously, I was looking to get my first foot on the ladder in an office-based role, and I knew CPB offered great opportunities for staff development. It felt like a place where I could build a real career. I also loved the buzzing atmosphere in the office when I came for my interview, it looked like such a fun and dynamic place to work.
Q2. What’s your prime focus as part of the management team?
CM: My main focus is keeping everyone happy - staff, customers, and our MD. If everyone’s content and operations are running smoothly, I feel like I’m doing my job well.
Q3. What’s your favourite part about working at CPB UK? CM: Definitely the people I work with – 100%! I have three amazing teams, and they genuinely make me happy every single day.
Q4. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned as a leader?
CM: Always lead by example. You set the benchmark in everything you do. That’s a good rule for leadership, motherhood, and life in general.
Q5. Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
CM: Our Chairman, Jon. He took a chance on me when he gave me my first job and has supported me throughout my career. Although he’s stepped back now, I know he’s only ever a phone call away if I need him.
Q6. How do you encourage growth in your team members?
CM: Positive reinforcement all the way. People need confidence to grow, and the first step is always helping them build that belief in themselves.
Q7. Favourite productivity hack?
CM: We work from home on Thursdays and Fridays, so I save any big admin tasks that need my full attention for those days. I find I can focus better and get them done faster (and often more accurately) that way.
Every person at CPB UK plays a part in shaping who we are, and Carrie's leadership inspires the team at CPB every day. If you would like to connect with Carrie on LinkedIn, click here.

Interesting local election update for Headland—August 26, 2025, all voting at Methodist Church, clear sample ballots by district, and that handy map is a nice touch for newcomers!
Getting people motivated to vote is key in these smaller municipal races. Stuff like community impact, staying informed on local issues, or even just the sense of civic duty can spark interest.
On the motivation side, psychologists talk about types of extrinsic motivation—things like rewards (maybe winning a better local government), avoiding penalties (like bad policies affecting your neighborhood), social recognition (being seen as involved), or external pressure from friends/family. All can push turnout higher than pure internal drive sometimes.
